Priya Sivagnanam, '15, B.S., Finance (Financial Management and Investments), Minor in Economics

May 4, 2015

My first finance club meeting as a freshman in college had a huge impact on my decision to pursue a degree in finance.  The upperclassmen were so friendly and knowledgeable, and I was really motivated to find my niche and cultivate a network.  The faculty and staff at Raj Soin went above and beyond to ensure I had access to programs, events, and opportunities to further my career.  As an honors student, I had the opportunity to work on an investment banking research project, under the supervision of a faculty advisor, where I cultivated a desire to pursue an investments concentration within the finance program.

Most meaningful experiences

  • Joining the WSU DesiBeatz Dance team gave me the opportunity to showcase my cultural background while representing my school at competitions.  The friendships I forged through dance will carry into the future.
  • Serving as the Chapter Administrator at Dayton Financial Executives International allowed me to connect with financial experts in the local community.  I never predicted I would be able to do that as a student until I came to the Raj Soin College of Business.
