Curriculum

Required for all concentrations: Business Core Courses

Finance General Concentration

Required Courses

  • ACC 3010: Intermediate Accounting I
  • FIN 3110: Financial Management II
  • FIN 3120: Investing in Securities
  • FIN 3210: International Financial Management
  • FIN 3110 and 3120 should be taken concurrently

Students must also select 15 hours of electives which can include up to 2 accounting or economics 3000 or 4000 level courses.

Financial Management Concentration

Required Courses

  • ACC 3010: Intermediate Accounting I
  • ACC 3020: Intermediate Accounting II
  • FIN 3110: Financial Management II
  • FIN 3120: Investing in Securities
  • FIN 3210: International Financial Management
  • FIN 4210: Financial Management III
  • FIN 4220: Analysis of Corporate Financial Information
  • FIN 3110 and 3120 should be taken concurrently

Students must also select 6 hours of electives which may also include one accounting 3000 or 4000 level course.

Investments Concentration

Required Courses

  • ACC 3010: Intermediate Accounting I
  • ACC 3020: Intermediate Accounting II
  • FIN 3110: Financial Management II
  • FIN 3120: Investing in Securities
  • FIN 3210: International Financial Management
  • FIN 4120: Fixed Income Securities
  • FIN 4130: Derivatives
  • FIN 4220: Analysis of Corporate Financial Information
  • FIN 3110 and 3120 should be taken concurrently

Students must also select 3 hours of elective course which may be any 3000 or 4000 level finance course or substitute one accounting 3000 or 4000 course.

Real Estate Concentration

Required Courses

  • FIN 3110: Financial Management II
  • FIN 3120: Investing in Securities
  • FIN 3240: Principles of Real Estate
  • FIN 4140: Real Estate Law
  • FIN 4150: Real Estate Finance and Appraisal
  • FIN 3110 and 3120 should be taken concurrently

Students must also select 12 hours of elective courses which may include any 3000 or 4000 level finance course not already required or Principles of Marketing, Economics Geography, Community and Regional Planning, Urban Geography, Foundations of Urban Affairs and The American City.
