SAS Joint Certificate in Business Analytics
The Wright State University Department of Information Systems and Supply Chain Management and SAS Institute jointly offer a certificate in business analytics.
Analytical talent is in short supply and high demand in today’s business world. The certificate in business analytics provides the opportunity to acquire the skills, knowledge, and competencies needed to enter the high demand business analytics field. Jointly developed and offered with SAS®, a leading provider of business analytics and data mining software and services, this program allows students to differentiate themselves in the job market by enhancing their analytical skills through exploration and analysis of business data for better-informed decision-making. This certificate program complements the business analytics concentration at Wright State University.
How will this benefit you?
Students will work in a data-rich business environment and earn a SAS certificate in business analytics recognizing their ability to leverage SAS analytical tools for data preparation, advanced analytics, and visualization. Upon successful completion of this certificate program, students will be able to use SAS and other related analytical software to analyze relevant data and provide organizations with data-driven insights. They will have the ability to:
- Prepare data
- Build predictive models
- Assess and implement models
- Perform pattern analysis
How to receive and/or apply for the certificate
Students who currently enrolled in the business analytics certificate program or business analytics concentration in another major can earn the SAS® certificate after successfully completing the coursework noted below. To qualify for the SAS® certificate, students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours including:
Required Core (3 hours):
- MIS 3820: Data Mining for Business
Electives (any 9 credit hours):
- MIS 3810: Introduction to Business Data
- MIS 4300: Business Analytics
- MIS 4700: Data Science for Business Applications
- MIS 3840: Data Visualization for Business
- SCM 4250: Supply Chain Information Management
Master's students must complete the following courses in order to receive the SAS® certificate in Business Analytics:
- MIS 7100: Data-Driven Businesses and Organizations
- MIS 7300: Enterprise Systems and Analytics
- MIS 7600: Business Data Visualizations
After you have completed all coursework, complete the application form (DOCX) and email it Amir Zadeh. Then your certificate, co-signed by SAS institute, will be emailed to you to the email address you provided in the application form. A digital badge will also be provided that can be shared on your professional networks such as LinkedIn.
