Valerie Van Winkle (B.S.'86) has 18 years of banking experience, and has helped start a successful community bank, Canyon National Bank, in Palm Springs, CA. Canyon National Bank is owned in part by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians and is one of approximately ten Native American owned banks in the country. She currently heads the Tribal Services division of the bank as vice president. She was also recently installed as the president for the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce.
