Human Resources Professional Certification Study Course

This human resources professional certification study course will prepare you to gain credentials that will advance your career. This study course is offered every Fall and Spring Semester on 10 Saturday sessions that are held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wright State University's Dayton Campus. You will learn from four instructors who are experts in the human resources field. This course covers both the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) body of knowledge and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) body of competency and knowledge.

After completing this study course, you will be prepared to take any of the following certification exams.

Before you apply for this study course, visit either the HRCI or SHRM website for the current eligibility requirements of each exam. Registering for or completing this study course does NOT register you for the certification exam. You must register with the exam provider to take a certification exam.

Register 

Registration for the spring session is $1,199. Payment is due in full at the time of registration. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and web checks.

The spring session will meet on the following Saturdays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

  • February 1, 8, 15, 22, 29
  • March 14, 21, 28 (Spring Break is March 2-7)
  • April 4, 11

You will need to purchase a required textbook. Instructions on how to receive a discounted price will be provided to you upon registration.

HR Scholarships Available at Wright State University

The Wright State University Raj Soin College of Business is offering need-based tuition awards for students preparing for their HR certification exams. The scholarships are available for the Human Resource Professional Certification Study Course (HRPCSC). The funding from the Ohio Department of Higher Education’s Short-Term Certificate Financial Assistance Program is designed to help students receive training that leads to in-demand jobs.

Each award is up to $1000. They are available for spring 2020 and fall 2020.

The deadline to apply for scholarships is Wednesday, Jan 15, 2020. The recipients of the scholarship will be contacted on January 17, 2020 at which time the recipient must register for the class within two days of being notified. If registration is not confirmed, we will be unable to hold a seat in the class and the scholarship will not awarded. Please note for any scholarship recipients, you must register and pay for the course upfront and monies will be reimbursed to you within a few weeks.

Scholarship Application for HR Certificate Program or HR Professional Certification Study

Program Outcomes

After completing this study course, you will be prepared to take your chosen certification exam and gain valuable human resource credentials for your career. 

You may also choose to pursue the certificate in human resource management offered by the Department of Management and International Business. The certificate is a total of six courses that gives you more in-depth knowledge of specific human resource topics. This study course can be added to your transcript as the equivalent to MGT 3210 with proof of passing your certification exam.
