Human Resources Professional Certification Study Course

This human resources professional certification study course will prepare you to gain credentials that will advance your career. This study course is offered every Fall and Spring Semester in 10 Saturday sessions that are held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wright State University's Dayton Campus. You will learn from four instructors who are experts in the human resources field. This course covers both the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) body of knowledge and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) body of competency and knowledge. 

After completing this study course, you will be prepared to take any of the following certification exams. 

Before you apply for this study course, visit either the HRCI or SHRM website for the current eligibility requirements of each exam. Registering for or completing this study course does NOT register you for the certification exam. You must register with the exam provider to take a certification exam.

The upcoming dates for Fall Semester 2018 are September 8, 15, 22, 29; October 6, 13, 20, 27; and November 3 and 10. Registration for Fall 2018 is now open and will close on Friday, September 1, 2018.

The registration fee for this study course is $1,182, which includes the 10 face-to-face sessions and all workshop handouts that are used by the instructors. 

You will use the following required textbook throughout this study course: Noe, R. A., Hollenbeck, J. R., Gerhart, B., & Wright, P. M. (2015). Human Resource Management: Gaining a Competitive Advantage. We have partnered with McGraw-Hill, the publisher of the text, to put together a book package for each class. You will have full access for six months to CONNECT, McGraw Hill’s learning management system, as well as digital and paperback versions of the textbook, flashcards, practice quizzes, and case studies. The book package price is an additional $125.

Program Outcomes

After completing this study course, you will be prepared to take any of the following certification exams and gain valuable human resource credentials for your career. 

You may also choose to pursue the certificate in human resource management offered by the Department of Management and International Business. The certificate is a total of six courses that gives you more in-depth knowledge on specific human resource topics. This study course can be added to your transcript as the equivalent to MGT 3210 with proof of passing your certification exam.
