An entrepreneurship degree will help you learn those skills and equip you with the experiences necessary to succeed in a business environment or start your own venture.

Graduates equipped with the skills of an entrepreneur are valued across all industries. An entrepreneurship degree is not only for those interested in owning their own business. Many companies are looking for people like you with entrepreneurial attitudes and characteristics who contribute to positive change. Our Department of Marketing graduates have gone on to both start their own ventures and work at some of the biggest companies in the region.
If you are looking to launch your own new venture, the entrepreneurship program can provide you with the skills and experiences to start, finance, commercialize, and manage your new business.
Entrepreneurship courses are geared toward experiential learning, giving you the opportunity to apply concepts learned in class to real-world situations. You gain experience by solving real business challenges and working with local businesses and executives. You can develop business plans for local startups, or even cultivate your own ideas as part of regular classwork. You will work with local entrepreneurs and businesses, like those affiliated with the Small Business Development Center, Air Force Research Labs, The Entrepreneur’s Center, and Wright State Research Institute.
The Entrepreneurship Club is open to students of all majors (not just those majoring or minoring in entrepreneurship) and will feature speakers from major businesses, networking and mentoring with local executives, support for your business ideas and ventures, and more.

I received both my B.S. in business and M.B.A. at Wright State, which complemented my work experience and helped establish the career that I have today. My career started seven years ago as a Sherwin Williams market manager, where I gained in-depth knowledge about customer solutions. I was then recruited to work with CertaPro Painters as a commercial sales manager, where I won several sales awards. The business skills I learned at Wright State enhanced my success in each of these positions. |

Review the admission requirements and complete the admission application. Identify whether you will be majoring in entrepreneurship.
If you are a current student and wish to change majors, go to the WINGS major/minor change request form and change your major. If you are an undecided/exploratory student, talk to your advisor about majoring in entrepreneurship.
If you complete this program, you will graduate with a Bachelor in Business with a major in entrepreneurship. This multidisciplinary program’s courses focus on starting, financing, commercializing, and managing a new business. Students learn to evaluate and plan new business opportunities, research and write comprehensive business plans, and learn additional skills in market analysis, problem solving, return on investment principles, team building, and planning.
